Bike events in South Tyrol

South Tyrol is a popular region for mountain bike- or racer events. That’s because South Tyrol is a mountain-land with many different uphill- and downhill grades and because South Tyrol offers good infrastructures for organizations and bikers.

Most of the bike-events are open also for amateurs. Only the Giro d’Italia race is closed for them and reserved for pro riders.

At the Dolomiti Superbike Race, the Sellaronda Bike Day or the Stilfserjoch Bike Day however can participate everyone who has enough stamina for it.

A really special race is the Maratona dles Dolomites in Ala Badia and Gröden Valley. Every participant can decide to buy special participation fees. This special premium-fees cost some thousand euro, but every cent will be donated to development aid projects. With more than 8000 participants the maratona is the biggest bike event in South Tyrol.
