The Italian Tour: Giro dŽItalia

Extrem uphill track in May 26th 2008

The 16th single track of  GIRO DŽITALIA, has its arrival at the Kronplatz in the Dolomites, at 2.273 m above sea level this year.

A challenging stop, with a grade line of 30% that binds the organization to specially gravel the last part of the climb.

South Tyrol and the Giro d'Italia

Every year the Giro d’Italia organization committee valorizes the mountain-races with challenging stage races in the Dolomites. And the mountain time-trial event Mount Kronplatz is surely one of the most demanding: there are uphill grades about 24 % and the difference in altitude comports 1080 m. The 16th single track event of Giro d’Italia 2008 is short with 13,7 km but pretty challenging, too.
