Mountain bike tours in Eisacktal Valley

We start in Vinaders (located after Gries am Brenner in Austria) behind the church and cycle  upwards towards the lift. From there, after a few curves we enjoy already magnificent views over the Upper Eisacktal Valley and Innsbruck.

On a forest track we ride down to the valley station of the chairlift, where we pedal towards Sattelberg. On that way we soon reach the border between South Tyrol and Austria.

We cross the border and go back com into Italian terrain until we reach on Almweg path Sattelberg in Eisacktal Valley. The most tricky and demanding part of the tour is now are managed.

Now we go further south and enjoy the beautiful track. Relax is still not announced, as a few meters in height standing on. We pass through various border posts, including the Sandjoch Pass, from where we have a beautiful view over the Obernbergersee Lake.

We continue the tour cycling the Portjoch Pass in the rear Pflerschtal Valley. Halfway between Sandjoch- and Portjoch-Pass, the track once again becomes narrower, but it rests easy to navigate. Arrived at Portjoch Pass a 20-minutes carrying-passage begins, which ends at a distinctive boulder on the right.

We go on to a small brook. The signposts here are basically very scanty. The cycling route begins after a brief upward piece and leads us to Obernberger Seehaus, where we can enjoy well-deserved break! To return to Vinaders we simply follow the road.
