The area around Meran in South Tyrol is thanks to the climatic singularity ideal for a thrilling biking holiday. Here the sun warms already in February and the bike-season lasts until November and so much longer as in the rest of South Tyrol.

Meran city is considered often as a Mediterranean city. That’s because of the position at 300 m above sea level. The temperature is very mild and in summer even hot: a big thermal garden and many shady promenades invites to linger and relax.

Mountain bikers however can let off steam in the much chiller and more Tyrolean valley around Meran: for example in Passeiertal Valley, in Ulten Valley or in Schnals Valley. The last ones are leading through orchards and vineyards mostly on asphalted cycling lanes.
