Biking paradise in Western South Tyrol
Mountain biking in Vinschgau Valley
If you come from the North and cross the Reschen pass – which is at the same time the Italian confine – it is as you have cross the door to the South.Suddenly the wide Vinschgau Valley lies at your feet, the turquoise Reschen Lake and in the background the amazing Ortler mountains. Here begins the South, here begins the mountain bike paradise Vinschgau Valley.
The Vinschgau Valley borders the whole Etsch-river-valley from Reschen pass to the valley-constriction Töll in front of Meran city and extends over 80 km length. Vinschgau Valley is delimited by the Sesvenna mountains in the west, the Ötztal Alps in North and East and the Ortler mountains in the South. It is a valley of differences in altitude. Here you can bike from 400 m above sea level to over 3000 m of sea level. Great!
Thanks to its geographic character and its sights, Vinschgau Valley seems to be predestined for mountain biking holidays. Many trails and marked bicycle-lanes draw through the valley, lead in higher regions or even to the neighbor countries Switzerland and Austria.
You see mountain biking in Vinschgau Valley is very manifold and exiting.
